…in case you were curious…

877-288-3499 is a number we commonly call for AT&T to check on ticket status and whatnot.

800-288-3499 is a common typo in our tickets. This number is not in fact AT&T but is a phonesex line.

just fyi.

it happens all the time by mistake. it’s been a common typo for ages now since we have a multitude of numbers for each telco. some start with 800, some with 888, some with 877, etc. so getting the numbers transposed is easy.

I’ve got the same thing goin.

1-866-926-8262 is a support line we use a lot

1-800-926-8262 is a me so horny asian phonesex line. Dialing this with the speaker phone on is something every new employee has done. And I’ve heartily enjoyed each time it has happened.

We had a similar situation with my store, although it was about a year ago. We had a help line that we no longer used, but out database didn’t update that number. So when my manager gave it out to a customer to call when they got home, they weren’t pleased to find out that the number was now a sex phone line.

They came back in the store, put their phone on speaker phone and called the number to make their point. My manager was quite embarrassed.
