klaatu barada… um….

So Army of Darkness comes on at work, and I’m all “hells yeah”. and all 3 of my coworkers (all some flavor of nerd or another) are all like “wtf mate?”… none of them have ever heard of Bruce Campbell or Army of Darkness. right around the scene where the chainsaw lands perfectly on his armstump, they’re all “wtf this is so stupid, what’s a chainsaw doing back then anyways?!” I tried to explain that the movie should probably not be taken seriously, but my efforts are mostly in vain I think.

Uncultured, the lot of them!

I was watching it this morning sitting in the “recovery” section of the blood bank, where they have that mandatory 15 minute wait after donating. The volunteer attending the table turned it on just as I was sitting down. Score. I’m usually eager to get out ASAP, but I was more than willing to sit and have some free juice and cookies so long as AoD was playing!

After a few minutes though, she snorted and changed the channel.

    Uncultured wench.

The only thing that could make that any better is if the Blood Bank was just looping that part from Evil Dead 2 where he keeps shooting the wall and blood is spraying out all over the place. Oh sweet poetry. 😀

I found work was flying by way faster than usual. there is truly something divine about a man with a shotgun and a chainsaw hand.

We apparently live in darker times than I could have ever imagined…

as the movie went on, I heard such comments as:

“what kind of horror movie is this?!”
“this just gets more and more rediculous!”

and other similar gems. how can you NOT get the point of the flick O_o?

I am just glad that I can look at my collection of DVDs and not take myself so seriously. I mean, Alone in the Dark, Starship Troopers 2, Mortal Kombat Annihilation, you have to be able to laugh at life!

In a just world reactions like the ones you describe would be grounds for capital punishment.

UHmm…all I can say is they are not actually geeks, but R-tards with no lives. How can you not know about this stuff and pretend to be a geek?

Igg, I assume you’ve watched “They Live” starring Rowdy Roddy Piper. It is very much in the same vein of ‘ridiculousness’ as Army of Darkness.
