“why people suck”, Reason # 3512 – random car damage.
So I was pennypinching last week. I took the CRX into work every day except wednesday to save on gas milage. the 33mpg on 87 octane the CRX gets is a lot cheaper than 20mpg on 93 octane the SVX guzzles. Fine. Dandy. I’m beboppin around havign a great time in my little yellow pseudo-car. I took in the SVX on wedensday because it was supposed to be a scorcher and there’s no AC in the CRX. cool. sweet. so I on thursday evening I bebop out to the SVX to take a cruise in it to the gym. and I think to myself “Gee, there’s a giant fucking gouge in my driver’ side fender”. Outstanding. Delicious.
I know it happened during the day on thursday when I had the CRX out at work since it was fine on wednesday. funny thing is that it was nose-in into the parking spot. so it would have taken an interesting maneuver to hit it all the way up there… most of the parking spots are empty during the day. And of course NO NOTE. bah. feh. not at all happy. I mean, it’s not like it’s someone’s 87 escort beater… it’s obviously an uncommon car that someone might be attached to. have a little courtesy. I was fuming about it all day. still pissed. I hate having damage like this. I still don;t know what I’m gonna do about it. I might end up repainting the whole car. there are a bunch of dings here and there, and the clearcoat is thinning (albeit inconspicuously) in some areas.
I repeat: GAH!

what could make that sharp crease… did it leave white paint? and the dark scratches?
what the fuck I would be ballistic.
Shit like that makes me want to install webcams inside the car, constantly monitoring, just in case. handy with police, too.

the white scratches are OEM suby primer. replacement parts use black primer IIRC… but yeah, the dark streaks are from the other car.
and yeah, this is why I don;t like to park my car out of sight, no matter where I go.
Wow, sorry to hear the news. And I thought my little ‘keying’ event was bad. Looks like someone was carrying something by the car and dropped it. What a-holes! I hate when people don’t take responsibility for their actions.
I hope you get it fixed and back to looking new soon.
Hory clap! I’d be so pissed. It’s not the worst spot on a car to have to bang out and repaint, but still…
$5 says it’s a dumb bitch in an SUV who couldn’t do a 3-point turn in less space than a football field who attempted to park next to you.
That’s what I’d put my money on for sure. and I bet it was a guest that won’t be driving that vehicle here again till they get the ding on their car fixed.

the other day some beaner cut me off in his migrant truck on RT 3 only to shoot projectile gravel at my winshield. i got the tinest little micron-esque chip and i went berserk, screaming a lot of words starting with “c0ck” through my sunroof to all the gridlocked traffic. yeah. so i think i feel you; my innards contract with fear and anxiety when i see the pix of your car.

God damn! I threw a fit when someone put a much much smaller ding in my RS. That is a fucking mess. 😡 Are you going to see if insurance is going to help out? If you deductible is low, it may be worth it.
